Rules & Regulations

Attendance Policy

Students shall be present at the designated time and place for all rehearsals and concerts. Unavoidable conflicts with school music organizations, illness and unavoidable family conflicts constitute justifiable excuses.

More than two absences per session without justification will cause the student to be subject to the review of the Music Director.

Promptness to all rehearsals is expected for all students. Please check in with the orch parent prior to the rehearsal for attendance.

You must report your absence from rehearsal in advance by calling Dora Barvir at 507-645-4311 or cell phone 612-483-4054.

Inclement Weather Policy

If school is closed due to weather, rehearsals will be cancelled that evening. If you have questions about rehearsals being held due to inclement weather please call Dora Barvir.

Rehearsal Requirements

Please bring a music stand and sharpened pencil to all rehearsals and concerts. Students should have an extra set of strings. All students are encouraged to study with a private teacher and participate in their school music program.

General Care

Occasional newsletters will be sent home with the student. Please make sure to read the newsletter and put dates on your calendar.

Each student is responsible for his/her music folder. There is a charge of $10 for lost folders.

It is a privilege for CVYO to use Emmaus Church. Please keep the rooms neat. Students are expected to pick up after themselves and assist with putting up chairs after rehearsal.

Respectful behavior is expected in any and all places where we are invited to perform.

There will be a sign up sheet for treats at each rehearsal.

Rehearsal Times and Locations

Haydn Orchestra practices from 5:45-7:15 PM Monday evenings.

Mozart Orchestra practices from 7:30 - 9:00 PM Monday evenings.

All rehearsals are held in the lower level of Emmaus Baptist 712 Linden St. N, Northfield.

Drop off and pick up area for musicians is on the north side of the building in the lower parking lot.

Concert Dress

Concert dress for performers will be black dress pants or black skirt (girls may also wear pants). Black hose/socks, black shoes, long sleeved white shirt and a tie for boys. Mozart girls wear all black.

Tuition

Tuition for each session is due at the first rehearsal. Financial assistance is available upon request. Haydn Orchestra per 10 week session: $100. Mozart Orchestra per 10 week session: $100.
